Life Membership is the highest honour Netball SA can bestow. It is awarded in recognition of longstanding and valued service to netball in South Australia. This distinction recognises individuals whose leadership, dedication and contribution have had a meaningful and lasting impact on our sport, our association and the broader community we serve. We are forever grateful to all our life members who have dedicated their lives to our sport. Nominations must be submitted via the form below by a current member of Netball South Australia. Bev Oats has provided an extraordinary 63 years of outstanding service to netball, far exceeding the minimum requirement for Life Membership. Her involvement has spanned multiple roles including player, Club & Association coach, Club & Association umpire, Club & Association committee member, and mentor within the Far West & Western Eyre Netball Association, and the Ceduna Blues Netball Club. Across more than six decades, Bev has demonstrated unwavering dedication to Netball, contributing at every level of participation and administration. Her longevity and breadth of service are exceptional and reflect a lifelong commitment to the development and sustainability of netball. In recognition of her outstanding contribution, Bev was awarded Life Membership of the Ceduna Blues Netball Club in 1977 and Life Membership of the Far West Netball Association in 1984. These honors reflect the high regard in which she is held and the meaningful, long-term impact she has made at both club and association levels. As a mentor, Bev has positively influenced countless players, coaches, and umpires, sharing her knowledge and passion for the game. Her guidance has supported skill development, confidence, and retention of participants, contributing to the ongoing strength and growth of netball in South Australia. Bev’s conduct strongly reflects the values of Netball South Australia, including respect, integrity, inclusiveness, and teamwork. She is widely regarded as a respected role model who treats all participants fairly and with encouragement.
Carolyn’s record of service, leadership, commitment, and contribution to netball in our state spans more than four decades and stands as an extraordinary example of dedication to the sport, its people, and its future. Carolyn has given a lifetime of outstanding and sustained service to netball across multiple roles including player, coach, umpire, administrator, mentor, and leader. Her commitment far exceeds the minimum requirement of 15 years, and she is a life member of the Echunga Netball Club as well as the Mid Hills Netball Association – both of which she is still an active member of today. She has been in leadership roles at both the Echunga Netball Club and Mid Hills Netball Association, as well as a longstanding coach and player. She is well known for her service to umpiring at club and association level, and as a respected B Badged umpire was the first Mid Hills umpire to achieve 250 League Matches in 2015. She has run countless development end education opportunities for umpires, coaches and players – increasing grassroots participation and consistency across the club and association. She has been recognised with multiple awards for both her umpiring and coaching, and her service, leadership, technical excellence, community contribution, and enduring impact epitomise what Netball SA’s life membership represents. Carolyn has inspired thousands, strengthened associations, grown participation, elevated standards, and left an indelible mark on our sport.
Di has been an integral part of Matrics Netball Club since 1985, contributing across an extraordinary range of roles. She is a selfless, innovative, and inspirational volunteer whose dedication has shaped generations of players, officials, and leaders. Over the years she has played, coached, umpired, served as Umpire Coordinator, and managed the Matrics Premier League team. As well as this contribution, her commitment extends well beyond the court. As a long-standing and active committee member, Di has served as both Secretary and Treasurer for 40 consecutive years, roles she still fulfils today. Beyond the Matrics Netball club, Di has demonstrated her leadership and passion for netball at the association level, serving as President of both the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division and City Night Division committees over the years. Her influence has strengthened not only Matrics but the broader South Australian netball community. Di brings energy, compassion, and unwavering dedication to every role she undertakes. She embodies leadership, generosity, and community spirit, inspiring all those around her. Remarkably, in her 40 years of continuous service, Di has never taken a year off, consistently going above and beyond to support and grow the sport she loves. Di Miles is a truly exceptional volunteer whose legacy and impact are immeasurable.
Michelle has contributed over 40 years of continuous service to netball in South Australia in roles including elite player, captain, coach, administrator, high-performance leader, mentor and community advocate. She has captained the Australian Diamonds, captained the South Australian State Team, played for Garville, Contax and Oakdale in the Premier League competition, coached for Garville, Tango and Metro Jets in the Premier League competition, was SA Head Coach at the Australian Netball League, head netball coach at the AIS, Assistant Coach at the Australian Diamonds, all on top of her ambassadorship and advocacy to grow and develop the game of netball in South Australia. As well as her representation at State and National level, Michelle has shown leadership and commitment with continued involvement in coaching and administration beyond paid roles, including mentoring coaches, leading community initiatives, and championing inclusive participation. Michelle exemplifies Netball SA values through her integrity, professionalism and leadership at national and state level, with a career-long emphasis on education, respect, unity and excellence. Her influence spans athlete pathways, community participation, elite performance, and national success. She fully and exceptionally satisfies all criteria for Life Membership of Netball South Australia.
Across more than six decades, Nancy’s dedication to netball has been unwavering, driven not by obligation but by a genuine love for the game and its people. Netball has been a constant thread throughout every stage of her life, shaping her time, friendships, and community involvement. Her service reflects an extraordinary longevity rarely seen in sport, underpinned by enthusiasm, humility, and a deep belief in netball’s capacity to foster skill, community connection, and leadership across generations. Nancy joined the Uraidla Netball Club 66 years ago as a player and has continued as a committee member from the age of 22, serving continuously ever since. While Nancy’s administrative contribution is extensive, her impact as a coach is truly exceptional – coaching at Uraidla for 56 years. Through her coaching, she has mentored hundreds, if not thousands, of players across all stages of their netball journey, providing outstanding service to the technical development of players while also fostering local participation and community engagement. Nancy's passion for development has included not only players, but also fellow coaches - both formally in her former role of Head Coach at Mt Lofty, but also informally through her local club. Her mentees praise her organisation, deep knowledge of the game, and passion for developing players to the best of their ability. Nancy Moulds is a Life Member of the Uraidla Netball Club and the Hills Netball Association and is a most deserving nominee for Netball SA Life Membership, in recognition of her extraordinary, lifelong service to netball across all facets of our wonderful game.
