Bev Oats is one of five 2025 Life Member inductees recognised for their outstanding service and lasting contribution to our sport across South Australia.
Bev has provided an extraordinary 63 years of outstanding service to netball, far exceeding the minimum requirement for Life Membership. Her involvement has spanned multiple roles including player, Club & Association coach, Club & Association umpire, Club & Association committee member, and mentor within the Far West & Western Eyre Netball Association, and the Ceduna Blues Netball Club.
Across more than six decades, Bev has demonstrated unwavering dedication to Netball, contributing at every level of participation and administration. Her longevity and breadth of service are exceptional and reflect a lifelong commitment to the development and sustainability of netball.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution, Bev was awarded Life Membership of the Ceduna Blues Netball Club in 1977 and Life Membership of the Far West Netball Association in 1984. These honors reflect the high regard in which she is held and the meaningful, long-term impact she has made at both club and association levels.
As a mentor, Bev has positively influenced countless players, coaches, and umpires, sharing her knowledge and passion for the game. Her guidance has supported skill development, confidence, and retention of participants, contributing to the ongoing strength and growth of netball in South Australia. Bev’s conduct strongly reflects the values of Netball South Australia, including respect, integrity, inclusiveness, and teamwork. She is widely regarded as a respected role model who treats all participants fairly and with encouragement.
Bev was presented with her Life Membership at Netball SA's 2025 AGM on Thursday, April 30th.
