Coordinator Venue Operations

We are seeking an energetic, organised and highly motivated individual to take Netball SA Stadium to the next level for internal and external events.

Reporting to the Facility and Asset Manager, and working closely with the Café Coordinator and Duty Managers, you will use your event management skills, creative flair, relationship and time management prowess to maximise venue bookings, attract new hirers, plan and deliver internal and external events, increase secondary spend and dwell times at the facility and ensure revenue and profitability of the facility is maximised.

In this hands-on role, you will excel with your leadership & customer centricity focus:

  • Experience in managing a team of approx. 20+ staff members.
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Creative flair and able to think outside of the box to ensure the success of events.
  • Strong leadership skills and passion to deliver superior service standards.
  • An engaging personality and ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to meet and exceed delivery expectations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Loves to have fun in an engaging environment

You will ensure compliance with all legislation and always maintain a WHS focus on all tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring the venue is ready for every event and client requests are met and expectations are exceeded. You will ensure that staff and patrons are briefed for all events and ensure feedback is shared to improve the customer experience.

Duty Manager – Netball SA Stadium

About the role:

We seek a highly motivated, customer-focused and experienced individual to lead a team of casual staff, ensuring the safety and efficiency of stadium operations. This role’s key duties include, staff supervision, client relationship management, venue management, food and beverage preparation and service, event entry and ticketing, cash handling, venue cleaning, facility maintenance, stock management and event set up and pack down.

This role is pivotal for the ongoing development of Netball SA Stadium with the successful candidate being a major part of the face of Netball SA. Your determination to be the best you can be and lead your team to do the same will see you succeed. You will be customer-centric with high-level attention to detail, a hands-on leader with a team-first approach and an improvement mindset.

Venue Assistant

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Venue Assistant to work at Stadium across, netball, other sporting activities and special events. 

This role’s key duties include barista duties, food and beverage service and preparation, event entry and ticketing, cash handling, cleaning, stock management and event set up and pack down. This multi-faceted draws on a wide range of skills from customer service to creative thinking. We are looking for highly driven people with a flair for customer service who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding customer service skills

Event Assistant

We are looking for a motivated casual Event Assistant to start ASAP. This is a contract role until the end of September 2021. The role includes:

  • Assisting the Events Manager in the planning, coordination and delivery of Netball SA and the Adelaide Thunderbirds events including event/game days.
  • Accompanying the Events Manager to both internal and external events
  • Supporting the Events Manager with logistical and administrative support
  • Maintaining records of all bookings eg. venue and catering
  • Attending meetings where applicable to act as a second point of contact
  • Ad-hoc duties at events including, but not limited to, guest list management, showing guests to tables and other general operational tasks
  • Helping set up and dismantle events efficiently through to completion
  • Maintaining the events volunteer program of events at Netball SA

Video and Digital Content Producer

About the role:

We seek a highly motivated and creative Video and Digital Content Producer who  will contribute to Netball SA’s overall Marketing and Communications strategies through the creation and production of video and digital content.  This role is responsible for developing creative briefs, directing, filming, and editing creative video content for use on digital channels, events and advertising.  This role also assists with filming, editing, and distributing video news releases and press conferences.

Indigenous Engagement Coordinator

  • Exciting new role in the leading women's participation sport in SA.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including working from home.
  • This is a 6-month 0.50 FTE Contract role.

About the role

The Coordinator will work with Netball SA (NSA) to progress and implement priorities and strategies that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as athletes, volunteers, officials and staff. The Coordinator will also work with Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff of NSA to promote inclusivity and cultural safety and identify priority areas that enhance Indigenous participation. This position will work across Indigenous communities and foster relationships to create avenues to engage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Through development pathways from grassroots to elite and provide development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes, umpires, coaches, and administration staff.

The Coordinator will work with NSA staff to develop its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan and provide cultural advice as required.

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.

Community Coach (casual)

About the role

Primarily, the position will implement the Netball SA Sporting Schools program and provide opportunities for every young person to participate in and progress through the Netball Australia player pathway. The Community Netball Coach will be providing many children with their first experience of netball at the Adelaide Thunderbirds School Holiday Clinics and other junior netball programs. The position will provide quality introductory netball programs for junior players within South Australia which emphasise skill development and active participation in a safe and enjoyable environment.

 

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Minimum current Netball Australia Foundation Coach Accreditation or higher
  • Current member of Netball SA
  • Working with Children Check (DHS)
  • Child-Related Employment Screening (DCSI)
  • Current Catholic Clearance
  • Responding to Abuse and Neglect online course
  • Current drivers’ licence and vehicle
  • Be available for school hours work

Academy Vacant Positions

Netball SA established the academy program throughout South Australia for talent identified players, coaches and umpires to help them reach their potential.

We are run nine netball academies, including eight regional academies and one metropolitan academy. The program aims to decentralise the delivery of developmental and high-performance programs to South Australian member associations and to develop links between the regions, Netball SA and the South Australian Sports Institute.

The main program runs from February to October of each year, involving players, coaches and umpires with a minimum 40 hours contact during this time. Trials for the academy programs commence in February of each year and are facilitated by each academy.
