South Australia’s 17U state team have once again secured gold, defeating Netball NSW to go back-to-back in the National Netball Championships final on Sunday, April 13.
The side went undefeated for the entire tournament and held their nerve on the big stage in a tight finish, taking the game 33-26.
Defender Jazz McKay was not only named MVP of the grand final, but also claimed the tournament’s MVP for the 17U division after a stellar campaign for South Australia.
McKay is the daughter of former vice-captain of the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Sarah Sutter, who had a decorated career including gold medals from both the 1995 Netball World Cup and 1998 Commonwealth Games with Australia.
SA’s 19U side played earlier on the same day, narrowly falling short to Netball ACT by two goals, finishing their tournament in sixth place.
