Netball SA affiliated clubs will be celebrated on the big stage in 2024 through a new initiative set to champion players, coaches, administrators, and volunteers across South Australia.
Seven lucky SA clubs will be selected as the Community Club of the Round from a pool of applications to receive a VIP experience at Adelaide Thunderbirds home games.
The clubs will receive complementary tickets, behind-the-scenes access, and in-game and online exposure.
The new initiative coincides with the Thunderbirds’ big move to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in 2024 on the back of a premiership season and unprecedented growth for the club in 2023.
“Our SA netball clubs and community are the heartbeat of our sport and we’re so excited to introduce this Club of the Round initiative to celebrate them,” Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said.
“The Adelaide Thunderbirds represent the pinnacle of netball in South Australia so its fitting that we honour our affiliated clubs at their home matches in 2024.
“On the back of Thunderbirds’ premiership success, we enter our new era at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre this season, giving us a bigger platform to champion netball in SA.
“We look forward to welcoming the lucky clubs that are chosen and giving them the VIP experience as the Tbirds defend their title in the world’s best netball competition.”
All Netball SA affiliated clubs are invited to apply to become a Club of the Round. All applications are to be made on behalf of the club by an official club committee member, so have a chat to your officials and encourage them to apply.
