Lee-Anne Cummins and Kirsty Leonard-Down, who both secured championships in both the 17U and 19U competitions in 2019, will return as head coaches for 2020.
2020 will see Kirsty Leonard-Down leading the 17U State Team, while Lee-Anne Cummins will take on the head coach role with the 19U State team.
Kirsty Leonard-Down, who won the Netball SA Premier League Coach of the Year Award for her commitment to coach education and her achievements as a coach this year, said that she was excited to take on the role as head coach of the 17U State team.
“I just love being involved in the pre-elite pathway program and working with the state’s developing athletes,” Kirsty said.
“While I’ve previously enjoyed the successes of working with the 19U team predominately, this new challenge in my career is another opportunity for me to share my experiences with our new talent.
“The National Netball Championships is such an intense and exciting competition, I just want to soak up another year and am looking forward to doing it with a talented, enthusiastic 17U group.”
Lee-Anne Cummins is similarly looking forward to a new challenge after winning four 17U National Championships back-to-back since 2016.
“I am really looking forward to working with the athletes in this program as they continue on their netball pathway,” said Lee-Anne.
“This opportunity will provide me with new challenges and the chance to continue my development in this high-performance environment.”
