Netball SA’s affiliation fees will increase by 6% in 2023, just below the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is set at 6.4% in Adelaide.
The increase will apply from 1 April, 2023 until 31 March, 2024 and equates to an average $4 per year.
The decision to maintain a CPI increase was made in consideration of rising living costs for participants, while ensuring Netball SA continues to operate the sport on a sustainable footing.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said the 2023 fee increase was consistent with the commitment the organisation made in 2019 to ensure it runs in a fiscally responsible manner.
“In 2019, we were in need of a substantial fee increase after almost 20 years of minimal change, which had created a financial black hole that Netball SA is only now beginning to emerge from,” Ms Klei said.
“From there, we committed to regular CPI increases to ensure the sustainability of our sport without enforcing significant rises to maintain the accessibility and affordability of netball for our community.
“A CPI increase is in line with industry standards, with both the SANFL and Football SA also increasing their fees by CPI.”
