The allocation marks the halfway point for the 2019 program, with six grants in total made available to local clubs.
The program was first launched in 2018 to help support and grow grassroots netball across the state.
Border Downs Tintinara Netball Club Secretary, Lisa Todd, said the club is thrilled to have gained the extra support thanks to the Mazda grant.
“Our club is volunteer driven and led from the ground up. Purchasing new products, supplies, maintenance costs, all come from fundraising within,” said Lisa.
“What makes it more challenging is that we are an amalgamated club, and so we do everything times two! We have both Coonalpyn and Tintinara games, courts, trainings and equipment to manage.”
With double the needs, the funding will be used to purchase some much-needed training and equipment supplies to help support both equipment rooms.
“At the top of our wish list now are two electric ball inflators. These will allow us to inflate our match and training balls in five seconds, rather than using the fiddly, time consuming hand pumps.”
Lisa, an active netballer herself understands it’s the small things that make a big difference to grassroots netball.
“Our training equipment currently consists of cones and balls, but we would also love to purchase some speed ladders and rebounding nets to help vary and enhance our players’ training experience.”
Local netball clubs across the state were invited to apply for the grant earlier in the year.
