The Education and Professional Development session included a practical workshop delivered by SASI Head Coach and three-time World Champion, Jenny Borlase. Jenny focused on the practical application of the 7-step skill progression, breaking skills down to their fundamental level and then teaching our coaches how to build on them.
The afternoon session saw the Community Coaches travel to Port Noarlunga Primary School, where they watched and engaged with PE teacher Mike Woolford as he delivered a netball session to his Year 4/5 class of 26 students. Mike shared many tips for keeping a large class with a range of abilities engaged using positive reinforcement and loads of game-sense activities, which was an invaluable experience for our coaches to learn how to get the most out of our students.
With the help of our Education and Professional Development Session, our NSA Community Coaches are re-invigorated and excited to get back out to schools and deliver meaningful, fun and engaging programs to our next generation of budding young netballers!
