The Tango Netball Club has announced an experienced country netballer and a club leader as their marquee signings for the 2023 season.
Tenille Gray will join the pink side for the first time, while Brianna Gibbs has recommitted to the club she’s been with since she was 10.
Gray joins Tango with a long list of achievements in multiple country leagues and at Netball SA’s annual Country Championships.
Growing up in Mount Gambier, the GA/GS starred for East Gambier in the Western Border Netball Association for many years, winning the league best and fairest in all junior and senior grades and making Team of the Year for the association from 2018-2021.
In 2022, she joined McLaren Vale in the Great Southern Netball Association to be closer to Adelaide and took out the GSNA best and fairest in her first season and was named in the Team of the Year.
Over the past three years, she was also named in the top 10 players of Netball SA’s Country Championships and played in the SA Country Development Squad.
Gibbs – who joined Tango as a 10-year-old - will enter her 12th season with Tango in 2023.
At just 16 years old, the talented midcourter earned her first opportunity at Premier League level under former club coach Scott Waddington.
Over the past five years, she has been a consistent member of Tango’s Premier League squad and in 2022 was the captain of the Reserves side.
Gibbs will continue to provide strong leadership for her club in 2023 and build a new connection with Gray as the newest recruit.
All eight The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League clubs have now announced their two marquee signings for 2023.
On Thursday, December 15, Netball SA will announce all clubs’ first list of 12, with the second list set to be announced in February of 2023.
