The Seaford Storm Netball Club are the recipients of the Woolworths NetSetGo Centre of the Year Award for 2023.
After being named a finalist alongside the West Gambier Netball Club and Penola Netball Club, Seaford were named winners at the Netball SA Awards Gala on Friday, September 29.
Seaford first became involved with NetSoGo in 2017 and since then it has been a thriving program, forming the building blocks for young netballers at the very start of their journey in the sport.
This year, 25-30 children participated in their program created by the clubs NetSetGo Co-ordinator, Ashlee Newton, and were given the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of the game and make meaningful connections and friendships.
The program is highly successful in encouraging children to continue playing netball with 90% of participants going on to play club Netball, and the number of Seaford junior teams rising from one in 2017 to 15 in 2023.
2023 marks the second year of Woolworths’ involvement in the Net Set GO program as naming rights partner.
Woolworths have a desire to increase participation in the coming years and see a growth in young girls and boys playing the game of netball.
