The Netball SA Rubies have secured the bronze medal at the 2023 Marie Little Shield competition in Glen Waverley, Victoria.
The side, proudly sponsored by Woolworths, clinched third place with a 26-9 victory over Netball WA's Western Swans.
Introduced in 2013, the Marie Little Shield is a prestigious netball competition that offers female athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to represent their state at national level.
The competition is named after the late Marie Little (OAM), a netballer and sports administrator who dedicated her life to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Rubies welcomed four new team members this year, joining forces with devoted captain, Isabella Ivancic-Holland, who has been a consistent figure of the side since the inception of the competition.
