The Matrics Netball Club have announced two star midcourters as their marquee signings for 2023 in Tyler Orr and Georgia Dent.
After an injury-interrupted start to the 2022 season, Orr, having played in the club’s Junior program, finished the year strong, becoming a premiership player once again with the Stars and being selected in the Southern Force side.
Carrying the load through the centre position, Orr was a consistent and reliable player for the Force side who went on to be named Champions of the Australian Netball Championships for the first time in 10 years.
She continued in her role as a training partner with the Adelaide Thunderbirds and was awarded a scholarship within the 2022 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.
Dent, who also progressed through the club’s Junior program commencing in the Primaries (11 years and under) age group, was the reliable playmaker for Matrics in wing attack once again in 2022, playing a key role in her side’s fight and ultimate success for the title.
Post-season, she was also selected in the Southern Force side who went on to be named Champions, after shining in wing attack across the tournament.
All eight Premier League clubs will announce two marquee signings throughout November and December, followed by the announcement of their initial squad of 12 in late December.
