The Nippy’s Performance Coach of the Year for 2026 has been awarded to Contax head coach Leanne Eichler.
This award recognises the achievements of a coach working to develop emerging and young performers from within the sport. They must hold a coaching position as head or assistant coach.
This season, Eichler coached the Blues to their 12th consecutive Premier League Grand Final and her 14th appearance in 15 years.
Her coaching is described as player-centres with a holistic approach to performance development, recognising that developing successful athletes also means developing confident, resilient women.
She has played a significant role in the club’s overall success that led to 18 Grand Final victories in 2026.
Matrics head coach Peta Maher was runner up while Oakdale’s Jackie Sincock finished third after taking her side to its first grand final appearance since 2009.
