After narrowly missing a top four finish in this year’s Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League, Oakdale have added a string to their bow in signing GK/GD Charlotte Walker from Tasmania.
Walker began her netball career in 2012 with the Burnie Netball Association’s Netta Program at just six-years-old.
She quickly progressed through Netball Tasmania’s pathway before moving to Devon to play in their 19/U team in 2020, where she stayed for three seasons.
The lockdown defender had a breakout year in 2022, during which she secured a spot in the 17/U State Team and was selected in the Tasmanian Netball League 19/U All Star Team.
In 2023, Walker took the next big step in her career, moving up to the Devon Open’s Tasmanian Netball League team and being selected in the Australian 17/U squad.
The now eighteen-year-old had been identified for her relentless pressure in defence, earning her a spot in the 2024 U21 Australian Squad that travelled to Fiji to compete.
She joins already signed defenders Kaili Cook-Shakles, Mikayla Schache and Poppy Scholz for 2025.
