The Oakdale Netball Club has added two big names to its line-up for 2023, with young guns Poppy Gilfillan-Silk and Monet Lyle set to pull on the purple next season.
The signings mark the first of many pending announcements after the signing period for the 2023 Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League opened in September.
Gilfillan-Silk and Lyle will both swap blue for purple, making the shift together from their former club Metro Jets.
Gilfillan-Silk, 18, made a name for herself in the competition in 2022 as a stand-out GA/GS.
The emerging goaler was also recognised with a selection in South Australia’s 19U side who claimed silver at Nationals before she won gold with SA’s Southern Force side who competed at the Australian Netball Championships in August.
Lyle, 19, also stepped up in 2022, proving herself to be reliable and versatile through the midcourt.
She was also selected to represent her state at Nationals, pulling on the red, blue, and gold for SA’s 19U side alongside Gilfillan-Silk.
All eight Premier League clubs will announce two marquee signings in the coming weeks, followed by the announcement of their initial squad of 12 in December.
