The best of South Australian and Tasmanian netball talent will go head-to-head later this year in an exciting new initiative between Netball South Australia and Netball Tasmania.
This August, the best of the two state’s pinnacle competitions will battle it out in the inaugural TAS v SA All Stars Cup in Launceston, Tasmania.
A three-match tournament, the Cup will take place from August 29 to 31 at Launceston’s Silverdome, exposing Tasmanian netball fans to more live netball action.
It also provides athletes from both states the chance to experience new styles and develop their skills in a unique environment.
The South Australian side will feature the top performers from the 2025 Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League competition as voted by a panel of Premier League Head Coaches and will be led by experienced coaches Leanne Eichler and Lee-Anne Cummins.
SA’s All-Star team will be announced on Monday, August 11, following the conclusion of the Premier League Grand Finals.
The All-Stars Cup will be delivered as part of the partnership between Netball SA and the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Netball Tasmania, announced in December of 2024.
Netball Tasmania and Netball South Australia would like to thank the Tasmanian Government for their generous support in hosting the All-Stars Cup.
“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Netball South Australia and the Adelaide Thunderbirds on home soil, through this exciting new All-Stars concept,” Tracy Jones, Acting CEO Netball Tasmania said.
“Any opportunity for our athletes to further their skills and have the chance to compete against high quality opposition is greatly appreciated.”
“We’re excited to launch the inaugural All Stars Cup and take the best of our Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League competition to Tasmania to showcase what South Australian netball has to offer,” Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said.
“This is another opportunity to strengthen both of our netball programs, and I have no doubt it will be an exciting weekend of competition.
“It also increases exposure for our Adelaide Thunderbirds brand in a Tasmanian market that is incredibly passionate about its netball.”
