South Adelaide have elevated their defensive unit, picking up Oakdale goal defender Alex Ward ahead of the 2025 Premier League season.
Ward had a dominant year on court in 2024, having played a total of seven Premier League games and twelve Reserves games across the season.
The lockdown defender led the Oakdale Reserves to a preliminary final where they fell short against the Matrics Netball Club, after finishing third on the ladder for the year.
Her ability to create turnovers and transition the ball through the back court saw her earn Oakdale’s Reserves Best and Fairest Award for the second time in her career, having previously won it in 2022.
The Panthers stepped up in 2024, finishing minor premiers and making a historic maiden appearance in the grand final.
The side will look to carry their success into next season by strengthening its back court as they look to go one step further in 2025.
Ward joins returning defender Ash Bray and Premier League MVP Jess Paradiso.
