Tango Netball Club star and captain Jess Paradiso has taken out the 2020 Premier League Most Valuable Player Award in her comeback year.
The former Adelaide Thunderbird took a break from her state league career and became a mother of three in the meantime.
In 2020, she decided to make her return with Tango and she certainly made her mark on the competition, leading her side to a third-place finish and a place in the Preliminary Final.
In the MVP count, she finished on 35 votes, just one ahead of her shooting partner Kelsey Williams on 34.
The goal attack finished on 327 goals from 374 attempts at 87 per cent – a significant contribution considering Williams finished first in the league for goals scored at 651 in goal shooter.
Metro Jets shooter Asha Thurlow, who took out the MVP Award in 2019, came in third this season with 31 votes.
Matrics Netball Club emerging shooter Lauren Frew has been named the 2020 Premier League Reserves Most Valuable Player.
The emerging shooter shot 443 goals from 476 attempts – the most of any shooter in the Reserves competition – at an impressive 93% this season.
This means she averaged a substantial 31.6 goals per match cross her 14 games at Reserves level.
Frew was the undeniable favourite for the MVP Award, receiving 48 votes, which was 15 votes more than teammate Georgia Kraft who was second on 33.
Tamara Killian of Metro Jets came in third in the count with 29 votes.
