The Matrics Netball Club have added another versatile shooter to it's list ahead of the 2025 Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League season with the signing of New Zealand GS/GA Danielle Binks.
The dynamic shooter has been a part of New Zealand’s Netball Northern Performance Pathway for the last six years, during which she captained the Northern Marvels National League team.
In 2021, she was named in New Zealand’s Under 21 team, however due to the global pandemic the Youth World Cup was cancelled that year.
Proving herself as one of the nation’s most promising up and coming shooters, she was elevated to ANZ Premiership side, the Northern Mystics in 2023, making her National League debut to become Mystic #82.
In just her first year in the league, Binks became a premiership player, combining with star shooter Grace Nweke as the Mystics defeated the Stars by 18 goals in the Grand Final.
Binks continued her fine form into 2024 where she played 14 games and won her second consecutive Grand Final with the Mystics, defeating the Mainland Tactix 68-64.
After losing their minor semi-final match against Garville Netball Club in 2024, Matrics will be looking to bounce back in 2025 by strengthening their goal circle with the addition of Binks.
Binks will be joined by returning shooters Kimberley Hearnden and Emily Sibley next season.
