We are excited to announce a significant new partnership with News Corp and The Advertiser ahead of the 2022 The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League and the 2022 Country Championships event.
In a new era for South Australian netball, our state’s pinnacle competition and our largest event on the netball calendar are both set to reach new heights in 2022 with elevated live streaming and media coverage through The Advertiser.
For the first time, The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League will be broadcast live by The Advertiser with an exclusive double-header fixture every Friday night this season.
It all starts tomorrow night with a Grand Final re-match between reigning premiers Contax Netball Club and rivals Matrics Netball Club, with both the Premier League and Reserves matches to be live streamed on advertiser.com.au from 6.50pm.
Netball SA Chief Executive Bronwyn Klei said the live streaming deal was significant and would bring new audiences to the elite competition, which is a breeding ground for future Adelaide Thunderbirds and Australian Diamonds.
“We’re proud to be partnering with a globally successful media company, securing a high quality live stream and regular coverage of our competition,” Klei said.
“We have the best netballers in the state playing in this competition – it’s time more people see what they can offer.”
Klei said a number of big recruits and special had set up an exciting 2022 season for the state’s pinnacle netball competition.
“In addition, for the first time in our competition’s history, we will have all eight clubs donning Indigenous dress designs for our First Nations Rounds.”
News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said News was proud to partner with Netball South Australia to exclusively broadcast a double-header every round of the Premier League live into the living rooms of families, friends and fans of the sport.
“The season-long deal emphasises News’ commitment to the best community sports and emerging athletes across the country,” Wilkins said.
“It also comes off the back of a successful partnership with Netball Victoria which has included a match of the round over the start of their Victorian Netball League.”
More details to come on the Country Championships as we approach the event on the June long weekend.
