The Netball SA 17U and 19U State Teams made South Australia proud in 2026, with both sides reaching the gold medal match for their age divisions.
The 17U side secured a 3-peat after defeating Netball NSW by one goal, while the 19U side brought home the silver medal after falling just short.
Following the tournament, awards for Coaches’ Player and Players’ Player were selected for each side.
For 17U, captain Tayla McCarthy was crowned the recipient of both awards following a stand-out tournament for her side.
In the 19U side, defender Anna Goad was chosen by her teammates as the side’s Players’ Player.
Goad was again recognised by her coaches as the joint recipient of the Coaches’ Player, sharing the honours with her defensive partner Jazmin McKay.
In addition to these awards, midcourter Chloe Peacock was also recognised as the 2026 recipient of the Spirit of Ivy Award.
This award was established in 2023 in honour of the late Ivy-Rose Hughes - who played for Matrics Netball Club and represented South Australia in the State Teams.
It is awarded to the 19U player for their on and off court conduct as part of the team.
At the Premier League Awards night, Chloe was recognised for her impact on the SA 19U side’s performance and culture. Ivy was also remembered and celebrated for the incredible person and teammate she was.
