The allocation is the fourth of the six grants in total made available to local clubs to help support grassroots netball in South Australia.
Pooraka All Stars Netball Club Secretary, Kim Mcmahon, said the small community club are very appreciative of the opportunity to be successful for the grant.
“It means a lot to our club to win this grant, as it will help us to restock our first aid kits, plus purchase some new training equipment that will benefit our club members,” said Kim.
Kim, who is also the club’s equipment manager and junior team coach, estimates that with the $1,000 the club will be able to access up to two equipment sets, two ball carry bags, five first aid kits plus tape and ice packs.
Locals clubs across South Australia were invited to submit grant applications earlier in the year through the initiative first introduced in 2018 thanks to the support of Netball SA and Adelaide Thunderbirds proud partner, Mazda.
There are just two more grants still available, so stay tuned for when we announce the final two allocations in September.
