The match on Saturday saw the Magpies take victory winning 61-50.
Head Coach Brian Lines said that the Saturday game was a real learning opportunity for our team.
“There were learnings around the intensity of the competition for our young group and the importance of composure and decision making under pressure,” Lines said.
“We played a good competitive game but did not value our possession and this let us down.”
Following a night of reflection, the team came into the match on Sunday with a clear way forward which the team executed well, winning the Sunday match 57-61.
“It was great to see the composure and determination on the athletes to fulfil the process and get the reward against a formidable team.”
While all members of the team played an important role over the course of the weekend, Lines mentioned being impressed by Goal Attack Gegogie Horjus during the Sunday match.
“On Sunday we were very impressed by Georgie Horjus and the connections that she made with her attacking team members. Her composure against some experienced defenders was beyond her years.”
This weekend the Southern Force will battle it out against Queensland Fusion at Priceline Stadium.
“We’re looking forward to the Fusion matches this weekend. They have been playing great netball and have won two games also so are just ahead of us on percentage.”
This will also be the last chance netball fans in South Australian will have the chance to see the Southern Force play in the Deakin University Australian Netball League. So be sure to get to Priceline Stadium this Saturday or Sunday to cheer on the Force!
