Di will assist with the development of Netball SA Premier League Squad Umpires and Talent Identification of umpires during the AMND competition. She will also oversee the development of our Umpire Mentor Coaches and help Netball SA to formulate programs to ensure it is in line with the National focus.
Di is currently appointed as a Netball Australia National Assistant Umpire Coach, working with umpires across the Australian Netball League and National Netball Championships, and is working with Netball Queensland as a High-Performance Umpire Coach. Di was awarded Life Membership by Netball Queensland in 2015 in recognition of her services to umpiring.
Awarded an AA badge in 2006 and reindorsed twice (2009 and 2013) prior to hanging up the whistle in 2016, Di has had a long and successful umpiring career. Her main achievements included officiating at the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, the Nationals Cup in Singapore, the Australian National League and Queensland’s State League Competition, and was named Netball Queensland’s Umpire of the Year from 2007 to 2012.
Di is an experienced tester and presenter, presenting Netball Australia’s Elite Umpiring course as well as workshops and courses at National, State and Association level. In 2017 Di was Invited to deliver Umpire Education across 3 days in Brunei. This was a joint initiative of Netball Australia, Brunei Ministry or Education and Australian High Commission – Di is the first Australian Umpire to deliver umpire education in Brunei.
