Ms Cirson fills the vacancy left by the retiring Nicole Williams who leaves after joining the Board in 2015.
Ms Cirson has over 20 years’ experience in South Australian Government with expertise in the execution, implementation and delivery of strategy, governance and change management. Her current role is within the Department for Energy and Mining.
Ms Cirson’s long-standing passion for and involvement in netball, which has seen her play, coach, and co-ordinate school and social netball teams, moved her to join the Netball SA Audit and Risk Committee in June 2017.
“I’m very excited to further contribute to netball by joining the Board. I look forward to continuing to grow netball for all involved in the sport, no matter their age or level,” she said.
Netball SA President Graeme Gilbert welcomed Julianne.
“Julianne is an experienced strategist who brings passion for our game and an array of skills from an esteemed career in the state government,” he said.
“I look forward to working with Julianne and the fellow Board members throughout 2019 and driving our business forward.”
Mr Gilbert thanked Ms Williams for her contribution to the Board.
“Nicole has been dedicated to furthering our sport over her tenure. On behalf of everyone, I thank her for the support over the years,” he said.
The Netball SA AGM was held last night (7 February) with the first Board meeting held in late February.
