Netball SA Awards Gala Nominations Open
Nominations are now open for the Netball SA Awards Gala, Friday 5th September!
From grassroots to elite, this event recognises the people, clubs, and pathways that make our game thrive. Awards will be presented across community netball, The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League, and the Adelaide Thunderbirds as we reflect on the achievements of the 2025 season.
Submit your nominations by midnight on Monday 28 July for a member of your community to go in the running to win one of our significant awards.
Community Awards
This award recognises the tireless work and commitment of those that volunteer and are the heartbeat of our country netball community.
This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a volunteer coach to getting more people starting, staying and / or succeeding in sport through excellent coaching.
The Netball SA Club Excellence Award recognises a community club* that has actively contributed to the growth of netball during the 2025 winter season. It honours clubs that have enriched lives, strengthened communities, and inspired future generations through inclusive programs, strong partnerships, and the development of coaches, umpires, and volunteers.
*Premier League clubs are ineligible to nominate.
Named after the inaugural recipient of this award, acknowledges the significant contributors to the engagement and support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander netball participants and communities.
The Netball SA Woolworths NetSetGO Centre of the Year Award recognises those Clubs and Associations, that have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of junior netball in their community through the establishment of an accredited Woolworths NetSetGO Centre. It provides tangible recognition for the efforts of individuals in improving and developing netball at grass roots level.
The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Awards
Recognises the achievements of a coach working to develop emerging and young performers from within sport.
This award is recognises the exceptional performance and contribution of a 2025 umpire within The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League squad.
The Rookie of the Year is selected by the Premier League Club Head coaches at the end of the minor round matches. To be considered for the Rookie of the Year, a player must have played no more than three games in any Premier Division or equivalent matches in any State or Territory previously, and must have played at least four Premier Division Matches in the current season.
The Club Excellence Award is presented to the Club who shows success in developing and advancing teams, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with goals.
The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Team of the Year is voted on by the Premier Division Head Coaches. The most outstanding players in the Premier Division Competition are selected based on their playing positions on the court. If a player has played more than 6 matches in the Suncorp Super Netball in the current year, they are not eligible for selection in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Team of the Year.
The Premier League Reserve Division Most Valued Player is considered to be the most valued athlete in the division and is the most prestigious athlete award for this level. The award is voted on by the head coaches commencing at the 1st Minor round match and concluding at the end of the last minor round match using a 3, 2, 1 voting system.

State Teams Awards
This award is a very special honour and is bestowed to a South Australian 19U athlete each year for on and off court conduct demonstrated as part of the 19U team.
The Yakanarna Most Valuable Person (MVP) award is a player who has demonstrated all the aspects of the selection criteria and has represented Netball South Australia at the most recent First Nations Tournament.
The Rubies Most Valuable Person (MVP) award is a player who has demonstrated all the aspects of the selection criteria and has represented Netball South Australia at the most recent Marie Little Shield Competition.
