Netball SA Awards Gala Nominations Open

Nominations are now open for the Netball SA Awards Gala, Friday 4th October!

Join us to celebrate and recognise all levels and pathways of netball in South Australia for the 2024 season.

The event will see awards presented across community netball, The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League and the Adelaide Thunderbirds as we reflect on the year that was. 

Community Awards

The Volunteer Achievement Award - Country recognises the tireless work and commitment of those who volunteer and are the heartbeat of our netball community.

The Volunteer Achievement Award - Metro recognises the tireless work and commitment of those who volunteer and are the heartbeat of our netball community.

The Coach of the Year Award recognises the outstanding contribution of a volunteer coach to getting more people starting, staying and/or succeeding in sport through excellent coaching. 

The Umpire of the Year Award recognises the outstanding contribution of an umpire to community level netball, with a focus on self-development.

The Netball SA Club Excellence Award is a points-based award, determined by the performance of a club, in an affiliated Netball SA association during the 2023 winter season. *Nominations will close for this awards on the 25th September.

Named after the inaugural recipient of this award, acknowledges the significant contributors to the engagement and support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander netball participants and communities.

The Netball SA Woolworths NetSetGO Centre of the Year Award recognises those Clubs and Associations, that have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of junior netball in their community through the establishment of an accredited Woolworths NetSetGO Centre. It provides tangible recognition for the efforts of individuals in improving and developing netball at grass roots level.

The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Awards

Recognises the achievements of a coach working to develop emerging and young performers from within sport.

This award is presented to an individual currently umpiring in the 2024 The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League. The umpires are ranked on their performances across the season both on and off the court.

The Rookie of the Year is selected by the Premier Division Head coaches at the end of the minor round matches.  To be considered for the Rookie of the Year, a player must have played no more than three games in any Premier Division or equivalent matches in any State previously, and must have played at least four Premier Division Matches in the current season. 

The Club Excellence Award is presented to the club who records the best results for teams in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League and the AMND pathway grades (at the end of the minor round).

The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Team of the Year is voted on by the Premier Division Head Coaches. The most outstanding players in the Premier Division Competition are selected based on their playing positions on the court. If a player has played more than 6 matches in the Suncorp Super Netball in the current year, she is not eligible for selection in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Team of the Year.

Is awarded to the most outstanding player in the Premier and Reserves Division. The award is voted on by the head coaches commencing at the 1st Minor round match and concluding at the end of the last minor round match using a 3, 2, 1 voting system.

The award is presented to the person who best represented the values that Ivy upheld.
