The Adelaide University Country Championships will be held at Southern United Netball Association (SUNA), Morphett Vale.
We were thrilled to receive State and Federal funding to allow us a full redevelopment of Netball SA Stadium. Redevelopment works commenced in 2025, with the outdoor courts due to be completed in April 2026. Due to the nature of the construction zone, the decision was made that an event the size of Country Championships was not suitable to be held at the Mile End site.
After consultation with associations and participants after the 2025 event, it was clear that the majority preferred a venue within ~30mins of the Adelaide CBD, as well as access to indoor courts.
Netball SA investigated multiple options, and felt that the venue at Morphett Vale was the ideal option due to the entire precinct being available for event layout, access to the adjacent indoor facility, as well as multiple accommodation options within close proximity.
Yes, we will have access to 3 indoor courts in the Basketball Stadium, as well as the 18 outdoor courts at Southern United Netball Association.
We are working closely with the City of Onkaparinga, as well as the surrounding Rugby, Soccer and Basketball clubs to ensure we have adequate parking for the event. As it is also a residential area, we do encourage the use of buses and car pooling where possible.
Yes! We cannot wait to celebrate the opening of the Mile End precinct in 2028, and look forward to bringing our largest netball event back to Netball SA.
