Setting up their netball skills

Young netballers keen to improve their netball skills are currently taking part in the Suncorp NetSetGO program run by Netball SA at Priceline Stadium.

Brooke Harvey, aged eight, is one of 34 netballers taking part in the program. Brooke who plays GA and C, said she loves the NetSetGO sessions as it’s a chance to run around the court and practise her shooting.

“We’ve been shooting goals and practising our dodging, so we can get in front of our defender,” she said.

One of Brooke’s highlights was being coached by Adelaide Thunderbird, Kaitlyn Bryce, who attended the first session.

Brooke’s mum Dianne said NetSetGO is great for young players because it’s skills-based, meaning players develop a strong understanding of what netball is all about.

“As a child I played netball and I think it’s a great team sport,” she said. “Brooke has participated in NetSetGO programs before. The sessions are good as they develop netball skills and give the kids an opportunity to try different netball positions.”

The six -week NetSetGO program currently running finishes on 30 November.
