Increasing opportunities for boys to play netball

There are two exciting ways for boys to be involved in netball in the upcoming months, with a school holiday clinic and the establishment of the Junior M League.

Southern Dragons School Holiday Boys Clinic

Wednesday 10 October

9am to 12noon

Priceline Stadium

The October school holiday clinic marks the second time the South Australian Men’s and Mixed Association (SAMMNA) have run a boys’ only clinic.

The clinic on 10 October will see participants split into two age groups – 5-11 and 12-16 years – to allow the budding netballers to receive tailored coaching from specialist netball coaches with guest appearances from Southern Dragons netballers, who have represented South Australia at the national mixed and men’s championships.

The clinic aims to cover all aspects of the game such as attacking, defending, goal shooting, ball handling, footwork, as well as match play practice. Registration cost is $35 per player.

Junior M League

The main goal for Netball SA and SAMMNA is the establishment of a boys only netball league – the Junior M League. The League will provide a competition for boys 12 to 16 to play in, improve their skills and meet other boys playing netball before progressing into the M League.

The Junior M League would be the first weekly competition for boys in South Australia, with Round 1 on 29 October.
