Adelaide Thunderbirds supporters will have the chance to see the new-look team in action for the first time at the ‘Best of SA Elite Netball Exhibition’ on Saturday 24 February.
The exhibition will see the Adelaide Thunderbirds go head-to-head with the young guns of the Southern Force and the top male players in the Southern Dragons, in a round-robin competition at Priceline Stadium from 11am to 2pm.
In addition to showcasing the Adelaide Thunderbirds new faces, the exhibition will provide fans with two exciting reveals – with the Adelaide Thunderbirds playing in their dramatic new-look 2018 dress for the first time and the brand new hot pink goal circles on centre court at Priceline Stadium.
Adelaide Thunderbirds coach, Dan Ryan, said the exhibition will showcase the best of elite netball in SA and the Adelaide Thunderbirds cannot wait to play in front of the club’s supporters.
“We made wholesale changes post the 2017 season and this new team is so eager to get out on our slick new home court, with hot pink goal circles, and play in front of our awesome fans,” he said.
“February and March are really key months for us in our preparation as we have the full squad together before the Commonwealth Games.
“It’s really important that we maximise our time together, consolidate all the things we have been focusing on and really build some momentum heading into the season opener.
“In early March we have two practice matches against the Collingwood Magpies before hit-outs against the Swifts and GIANTS in Sydney later in the month, so these exhibition games against Southern Force and SA Dragons will be another important stepping stone in our preparation.’’
