All eight premier league clubs will be playing, along with a Country Championships all-stars team and the SA Men’s team, in a series of round robin matches comprising of two 15-minute halves.
The Preseason Cup is always a great opportunity for coaches to trial new combinations, as well as test emerging players against some of the best opposition in the competition.
The state’s premier netball competition has produced a number of international representatives over the years, including Kathryn Harby-Williams, Michelle Den Dekker, Rebecca Saunders, Peta Scholz, Natalie Medhurst, Laura Von Bertouch and Natalie Von Bertouch.
It has more recently been the launching pad for a new generation of netball stars, with current Suncorp Super Netball League players Gia Abernethy, Sasha Glasgow, Emily Burgess (Adelaide Thunderbirds), Maddy Proud, Maddy Turner, Sarah Klau (NSW Swifts), Kate Shimmin (Queensland Firebirds) and Khao Watts (Melbourne Vixens) all coming through the Nine News Netball Cup.
The first game will begin at 9am, with the final match finishing around 3pm.
